This EKC brand portable oxygen cylinder is a product that has an oxygen carrying capacity of 1500 litres. It is a portable mini oxygen cylinder weighing approximately 15 kgs.
The valve on this cylinder can fit in any Oxygen regulator with/without flowmeter. The product comes with a valve key for easy control of oxygen flow.
How to use Oxygen Cylinder
- Assemble the Regulator:
- Ensure that the cylinder and regulator are compatible. Oxygen regulators typically have specific fittings for different types of cylinders.
- Remove the plastic cap from the cylinder valve, exposing the outlet.
- Place the regulator over the cylinder valve and line up the pins on the regulator with the holes on the tank.
- Secure the Regulator:
- Use the T-Handle on the regulator to tighten it onto the cylinder valve securely. Make sure it is snug but avoid over-tightening.
- Check for Leaks:
- Before using the oxygen, perform a leak check. Apply a small amount of soapy water to the connections and look for bubbles. If you see bubbles, there is a leak, and you should tighten the connection or replace any faulty components.
- Open the Cylinder Valve:
- Slowly open the cylinder valve by turning it counterclockwise. Do not open it too quickly to prevent damage to the regulator or sudden pressure changes.
- Check the Pressure Gauge:
- Once the valve is open, check the pressure gauge on the regulator. This gauge shows the pressure of the oxygen in the cylinder. Ensure it reads within the recommended range for safe operation.
- Adjust the Flow Rate:
- Use the flow control knob on the regulator to set the prescribed liters per minute (LPM) as directed. Turn the knob clockwise to increase the flow and counterclockwise to decrease it.
- Attach Delivery Device:
- Connect the oxygen delivery device to the outlet on the regulator. Ensure a proper fit to prevent leaks.
- Use the Oxygen Therapy:
- Once everything is set up, you can start the flow of oxygen. Be sure to monitor the flow and follow any specific instructions provided by professionals.
- Close the Cylinder Valve:
- When finished using the oxygen, close the cylinder valve by turning it clockwise. This prevents unnecessary waste and ensures the safety of the equipment.
- Store the Equipment Safely:
- When not in use, store the oxygen cylinder and related equipment in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight, heat sources, and flammable materials.
Always follow the specific instructions provided by the professionals.
